There had been trading houses under the name of Masters in Bermuda from the early 1840's. In 1869 Samuel A. Masters returned home from Texas with the vision of starting a retail store providing tools and household articles, which soon became known as the Masters Hardware Company, the first on the Island . This developed over the years as one of the leading “ Front Street ” retailers in Bermuda taking the name Masters Limited with incorporation by Act of Parliament in 1940.

In the 1980's we consolidated our business at the convenient “Bulls Head” premises next to the city of Hamilton 's multi story car park. Later completing extensive renovations to concentrate our business as a retailer on two floors. It was an honor to welcome the Premier of Bermuda The Honorable Pamela F. Gordon JP to cut the ribbon at the formal re-opening of our Store on June 21 1997.

Concentrating on products for the home we accordingly renamed our retail divisions.

Homecentre – offering a wide range of hardware goods, including major Kitchen appliances

Homeworks – with an extensive selection of furnishings

There is also a parts and repair department to provide back up for the items sold, and delivery and installation service for larger items .
